Sheila Rowe Declares She Did Not Authorize Recent Flyer

Sheila Rowe and yours truly were chatting on Facebook concerning a flaming flyer circulated through the mails this week. Mrs. Rowe says that she did not authorize the said flyer.

Sheila has her own Facebook page focused on her re-election to the Troup County School Board. Peggy Patterson made a remark to which yours truly responded and to which Mrs. Rowe responded and the chat ensued. Here's a full copy from Patterson to the end of our chat:

REALLY? This smear cost a LOT of MONEY and I understand that PC was responsible and I am very, very disappointed.

Ken Aspinwall We really need to keep personalities out of it and get down to the issues that impact the citizenry. We cannot keep taxing and spending. Those of us on a limited income can barely afford to live.

I don't know a thing about it other than what I've heard this morning. If it is a smear, then it certainly is nothing I know about. That would be really stupid for me to be involved in something like this -don't you think???

  Ken Aspinwall I've said before that this flyer may have gone out without your approval. So, if that is the case, a public statement from you would be a good idea. I am sure your supporters meant well, but such things do more damage and cause alienation. I am sorry to see this kind of stuff and it is in your best interest to set yourself apart. I understand that this is a hot race. Keeping the focus on the issues is the best policy. I want to see you and Dariel run a good race. May the best win.

  OK. It's official. Sheila Rowe declares that she did not authorize the flyer that was mailed this week. Personally, yours truly did not think that Sheila would stoop this low. So, now, it remains for us to identify the responsible parties.
